FAQ

Where did all of these cookbooks come from?
I had accumulated quite a few cookbooks from antiquing and bookstore. Also, I inherited a library room full of cookbooks from a friend.

Do you publish the recipes verbatim from cookbooks?
The majority of these recipes are adapted for my personal use.  However, sometimes I do not like an ingredient nor do I have the ingredient on hand, so I substitute.  I will not break copyright laws, so if I do  make it as written, I post the link to the recipe or book. (Go buy them, hint, hint.)

Do you have any of your own cookbook publications?
No, it seems like a lot of work, and I blog for enjoyment!

How often do you blog about cooking?
I have been sporadic about blogging, but I am going to make a concerted effort to attend to the task of blogging.

Should I try these recipes out for myself?
If you think you might like them, try them. That is why I post them!

Should I buy these cookbooks?
I think so. But then again, I might also have an addiction to cookbooks, so that's like asking a chocoholic if you should buy a Hershey bar!!!

What's your palate? How do I know I'll agree with your tastes?
I like almost any thing... except for really spicy food and hamburger gravy. But you should always open your horizons, so I'll try anything, and you should too!

Do you cook professionally? Have you ever?
I taught school all my life and now am retired.  I thought it would be fun to have a bed and breakfast, but after talking to people that have them, it just seems like too much work.  I would love to go to culinary school, but not to work in a restaurant. I do think, however, that it would be fun to be a private chef.

How long have you been passionate about cooking?
I used to hate to cook, but somewhere along the line, in my thirties, I started to enjoy it. (And then learned to love it!)

How often do you cook?
I cook about five days out of the week.  Sometimes it's something I know how to cook that is fast and easy.  For example, creamed tuna fish and peas on toast, which is something my husband and I grew up eating as a child.

Who are you cooking for?
I cook for myself and my husband. I have to married daughters, and a couple of grandchildren who like to drop in as well. So, sometimes I'm cooking for two, and sometimes I can get caught cooking for ten!
